A Research Study On The Presidential Fellowship Essay

The Presidential Fellowship emphasizes innovative scholarly work, interdisciplinary inquiry and engagement, leadership, and outreach. Thanks to my training in HDSP, I have conduct meaningful and significant research, interacted with audiences from a variety of fields and backgrounds, and engaged with communities within and outside Northwestern. I believe I fulfill the requirements for the Fellowship and would make a great candidate for HDSP to nominate. To show this, I will address my research achievements, my ability to communicate with diverse audiences, and my leadership and outreach services. I am actively engaged in a number of research projects, which have led to three works in preparation for publication and one article under review. Alongside a research team lead by Cynthia Coburn, I am co-authoring a book based on our research on the spread and scale of educational innovations. The manuscript is currently under contract with Harvard Educational Press and is designed to appeal to both practitioners and researcher. Work on this project also produced an article on the conceptualization of scale, on which I serve as lead author. I drafted the article with support from Prof. Coburn. The draft is currently under review at Educational Researcher. Another paper I am co-authoring comes from different project with Prof. Coburn, focusing on the social structure of the professional development field.
